What Information Do We Collect?

  • Information related to your donation. The amount donated, date of donation, purpose of donation, recipient of donation
  • Medical information. Medical records, medical treatment receipts, proof of short-term disability
  • Employment information. Current employment status, employee ID, hire date, work location, home address, eligibility to receive assistance
  • Demographic data. Your age, country, preferred language
  • Data on how you use our website. Your IP address, login information, browser type and version, time zone setting, browser plug-in types, geolocation information about where you might be, operating system and version
  • Children's data. Our website is directed to and intended for use only by those who are 16 years of age or over. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from any person under 16 years of age. If E4E Relief is informed that it is improperly in possession of such information, it will be deleted.
  • Criminal Background. Criminal background check, court records, parole information, police reports

How Do We Collect Your Information?

  • use or access our website, such as when you make a donation, fill out a grant application, fill out a form, or respond to a survey;

Like many websites, we automatically collect information from your browser or mobile device when you use or interact with our website. We collect this information to better understand you and to communicate with you. This information may include:

We collect and use your information so that we can operate effectively, provide the service you have requested, and provide you with the best experience when you interact with us. Providing this information to us ensures that you are receiving the necessary services, consistent with your rights and interests under applicable laws. Information used that might be deemed sensitive is strictly for the provision of our services to you. We also use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • Processing of donations and grants. Completing the donation transaction, accepting and processing grant applications, customizing our services to your preferences, and keeping proper records of those transactions. The legal basis for this data usage is: consent, contractual necessity, pursuant to a legal relationship we have with you.
  • Customer support. Notifying you of any changes to our services; responding to your inquiries via email, phone, writing, or social media; investigate and address concerns raised by you; and monitor and improve our customer support responses. The legal basis for this data usage is: consent, contractual necessity, legitimate interests, pursuant to a legal relationship we hold with you.
  • Improving our services. Conducting data analysis and audits; developing new products and services; enhancing our website; improving our services; identifying usage trends and visiting patterns; conducting customer satisfaction, market research, and quality assurance surveys; determining the effectiveness of our promotions; and meeting contractual obligations. The legal basis for this data usage is: legitimate interests.
  • Marketing. To communicate news about our services and other information we think may be of interest to you. The legal basis for this data usage is consent, legitimate interests.
  • Safety and security. Using closed circuit television systems, electronic key cards, and other security systems to maintain the safety and security of you; your data; and our guests, visitors, and employees at our offices. The legal basis for this data usage is: legitimate interests.
  • Legal proceedings and requirements. Investigating or addressing claims or disputes relating to your use of our services; or as otherwise allowed by applicable law; or as requested by regulators, government entities, and official inquiries.   • E4E Relief as a data processor. When E4E Relief acts as a data processor for the data subject's employer (the data controller), E4E Relief will only use or process personal data in accordance with the instructions of the data subject's employer.

How Do We Share Your Information?

We do not sell your name or other personal information to third parties. We may share the information we collect for the purposes set forth in this policy:

1.WITHIN THE FOUNDATION FOR THE CAROLINAS FAMILY OF COMPANIES.

We share information within the Foundation For The Carolinas family of companies (of which E4E Relief LLC is a wholly owned subsidiary) to help us provide our services or conduct data processing on our behalf.

2.WITH E4E RELIEF SERVICE PROVIDERS AND BUSINESS PARTNERS

We may provide information to our vendors, consultants, marketing partners, research firms, and other service providers or business partners to help facilitate our services to you. This may include, for example:

  • payment processors and facilitators;
  • cloud storage providers;
  • marketing partners and marketing platform providers;
  • data analytics providers;
  • research partners;
  • consultants, lawyers, accountants, and other professional service providers; and/or
  • insurance and financing partners.

3.WITH YOUR CONSENT.

We will only share your information when we have your consent or when it is authorized by applicable laws. We may share your information other than as described in this policy if we notify you and you consent to the sharing.

4.FOR LEGAL REASONS OR IN THE EVENT OF A DISPUTE.

We may share your information with third parties, internationally or domestically, for legal reasons or in the event of a dispute. This may include, for example:

  • in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of company assets, consolidation or restructuring, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business by or into another company;

5.OVERSEAS RECIPIENTS AND TRANSFER OF INFORMATION

We will transfer your personal information from your location to the United States, where our servers are located. We may also share your personal information with our third-party service providers who may be located outside of the country or territory where you reside. Such transfers may be to a country which may not provide the same level of privacy protection as that provided by the country in which you are located, but we will take reasonable steps to ensure that while your personal information is within our control, we will provide reasonable security and confidentiality procedures to keep your personal information secure and confidential.

Where Do We Store Your Information?

We process and store personal information inside the United States. Our vendors may store personal information in other countries in accordance with this privacy policy. E4E Relief complies with laws in the United States that are applicable to E4E Relief's business practices with respect to the privacy and security of personal information.

How Secure Is Your Information?

We implement reasonable administrative, organizational and technical safeguards, and security measures to protect personal information within our control from unauthorized access, acquisition, disclosure, destruction or alteration, accidental loss, misuse, or damage. We regularly review and monitor such safeguards and security measures. Although we take reasonable steps to safeguard personal information, no practices are 100% secure, and we do not guarantee the security of your information.

Our security safeguards include the use of a secure server, all supplied sensitive information is transmitted and stored using AES 256 bit encryption, information stored in our database can only be accessed by those authorized with special access rights to our systems, and who are required to keep the information confidential.

Do We Use Cookies?

We use session cookies to collect information only while you are visiting our website. We do not use cookies that store any information beyond the time spent browsing our website.
